Lovers huddle in the close packed seats
And wait for the train to depart
Share kisses in wait for departure
Hold tight as the engines roar loud

Their eyes sparkle bright in the windows
Against a clear blue winter sky
Oblivious to pairs of lovers
Who sit arm in arm, thigh to thigh

They talk and they laugh in the sunshine
Cuddled up by the windows to watch
The Black Country pass from a Sprinter
Romance where you thought there weren't much

And later they pass next to sheep fields
The line runs above a small lake
A small signalbox by a station
A village the passing train shakes

When leafless trees tower on hillsides
And market towns pass swiftly by
And couples on trains draw together
Let this day be known Valentine's
