Kestrel's prey

Birds fly over randomly, black streaks across the sky
The smell of fear is strong through a cacophony of noise
As fleeing blackbirds urgently seek trees in which to hide
A lamp post shakes - a kestrel lands and sits and waits with icy poise

The quarry's spotted in the bush, and easy metre's swoop
The kestrel spreads its wings out wide and readys for the dive
Is spotted by the blackbird as it speeds towards the bush
A flurry of feathers and leaves and claws - the prey escapes - ALIVE!
